across the pizza bread. While making a pizza at home besides its other ingredients, such
as the bread, cheese and the vegetable and meat toppings, your culinary skill in cooking
a pizza sauce, will decide your ultimate efficacy in making a delicious pizza. Here are
some tips of making pizza sauce at home. The measurements are given for making sauce
that could be spread over 1 to 2 pizza breads.
Simple pizza sauce
Ingredients
1-tablespoon olive oil
1 clove of garlic (minced)
1 can or 6 ounces tomato paste
1 can or 8 ounces tomato sauce
½-teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon salt
½-teaspoon oregano
¼-teaspoon black pepper
If you want your sauce hot, add a dash of red pepper flakes or powder
Methods
Heat the oil in a pan. Add the minced garlic and sauté it. Add the tomato sauce and
tomato
paste and stir it well. Now add sugar, oregano, black pepper and red pepper. Bring the
sauce
to simmer. Let the sauce simmer for about 30 minutes to attain the desired consistency.
Now
take the pan off the flame and spread the sauce over the pizza bread.
Cheesy Pizza Sauce
Ingredients
2 tablespoon of olive oil
1-tablespoon butter
1clove of garlic (minced)
½ cup of chopped onion
½ cup of chopped celery
1 can or 6 ounces of tomato paste
1 can or 8 ounces of tomato sauce
2 table spoon of parmesan cheese (grated)
½-teaspoon salt
½-teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon of oregano
½ teaspoon dried basil
¼-teaspoon black pepper
1 bay leaf
Method
Melt the butter with the olive oil in a cooking pan. Add the onion, garlic and
celery and sauté them until they become transparent. Now add the tomato paste and
sauce and stir thoroughly to make a smooth paste. Add the cheese, bay leaf, herbs,
salt, sugar and pepper to the sauce and bring it to simmer. Let the sauce simmer for
about 30 minutes and your pizza sauce is ready to be spread over the pizza bread.
