Determine Size
While there is no set rule, we generally recommend that the pull length is approximately 1/3 of the cabinet or drawer width. Small Drawers that are 12” or less typically work best with a pull that is 3” to 4” long or a knob that is 1” in diameter.
Keeping this in view, can you mix cabinet pull sizes?
There’s no “rule”, it’s a matter of looking at as many kitchens as possible and figuring out the look you prefer. I also used a variety of sized pulls on drawers of different widths, and used Restoration Hardware.
Herein, how Big Should cabinet knobs be?
Knobs that are 1 ¼” to 1 ⅜” are standard for most applications. Any knob that is 1 ½ inches or larger is generally used on larger cabinets or if someone is really trying to make their hardware stand out and look more dramatic.
How do you measure for drawer pulls?
The Center-to-Center of any drawer pull is the distance between the center of one screw hole to the center of the other. Measuring the center-to-center of the drawer pull is key in determining what new hardware will fit and whether you’ll need to drill new mounting holes or fit into existing ones.
How many pulls should a drawer have?
For really wide drawers, we always recommend using two cup pulls, and then evenly space them. As a general rule of thumb, if your drawer is 30″ or wider, I like to use two cup pulls. Lastly, if you have tall drawers, you can either center them in the overall drawer, or install them on the top rail.
Should cabinet pulls be vertical or horizontal?
The thing to keep in mind with cabinet pulls has to do with placing them vertically or horizontally. Usually for cabinet door pulls, we recommend placing the pulls vertically, making it easy to open the doors (again, functionality is key).
Should my kitchen cabinet pulls match my faucet?
Does cabinet hardware have to match your faucet? No. But, traditionally kitchens and bathrooms will match hardware finishes to the faucet to tie the finishes in the room together. Matching cabinet hardware to your faucet creates a cohesive look.
What are the standard drawer handle sizes?
Standard Drawers (about 12″ – 36″)
Standard-sized drawers can use any of the following pull sizes: 3” (one or two), 4” (one or two), 96mm, and 128mm.
What size kitchen drawer needs two pulls?
Drawers wider than 18″ need two knobs/pulls, whereas drawer narrower need only one. If a drawer is wide enough to need two knobs, they should be set about 1/6th of the drawer length from each end (roughly).
What size pulls for 24 inch Drawers?
Pulls 3-7 inches in length will sit the most comfortably on doors less than 24 inches tall. Cabinet doors 24-36 inches tall are best adorned with pulls 7-12 inches long, while cabinets taller than 36 inches such as pantries, built-in appliances and pullouts should be accompanied by pulls longer than 12 inches.
What size should cabinet pulls be?
There is no right or wrong size to choose, but we do recommend choosing pulls that have at least a 3-3/4″ center to center (the distance between the screw holes). This size looks pleasing on most cabinets, while still being large enough to grip comfortably. 5″ pulls are also an excellent choice.
